Ways age differences affect lifestyles!

Staying healthy and active is an option that’s now open to more of us even when we’ve hit that time of life that some women persist in calling “middle’ age. Some people who are into healthy life style honestly you cannot notice any slow down or loss of energy. Let’s face it, we don’t let the fact that we are getting older make a difference to what we wear, how we enjoy ourselves or the activities we get involved in. therefore whatever you age, fitness level or body shape, it’s never too soon or too late to start thinking about living healthily. You can take a step towards healthy living by making a few basic changes to your daily life style. The point is to do something you enjoy. We are all human, there’s only so much we can put up with if we’re not getting much pleasure out of it. No one pays you to exercise, or forces you to do it. It’s all down to you. It’s voluntary, and the health benefits are hidden, at least, at first, before you to realize how much fitter and more energetic you are. Trust me it can actually feel like hard work in the very first few days and finding time in a busy life can be a problem. No wonder we tend to give up if we find the actual activity boring or unrewarding. My advice is to find something you really like doing and stick to it. What every woman eats is very important. Your diet can affect how well you feel which in return will tell on your performance at work and at home. If you eat the right foods, you can protect yourself and decrease your chances of getting ill from minor ailments to more serious illnesses. Considering daily active life style of most women; school runs, office, home work with the children and taking care of the home as a result call’s for proper diet check. A woman is the center of the home, therefore she need to have a balance diet to stay strong for the family. Protein is one class of food that we need to throw more light on. Every other classes of food are equally important, remember for one to have a balance diet, it involves having carbohydrates, protein, vitamin, mineral and fat all in the right portion at the proper time. Healthy lifestyle is having a planned meal and preparing your meal ahead so that you avoid reaching out for snacks or unhealthy meal just to satisfy your hunger. Try as much as possible to avoid eating when you are very hungry instead learn to eat at the right time. Meal skipping is not acceptable. Enough protein: protein is made of amino acids, the building blocks, of cells and tissues. It assists in the growth, repair, and replacement of bones, muscles, connective tissues and organ walls. In addition protein is important for many reasons such as:

  • Supports immune system function.
  • Promotes healthy connective tissue, hair, nail, and other tissues.
  • Supports energy levels.

Now that we are aware of the importance of protein in our life, let’s find out how much protein a woman needs and where. Women are advice to consume 150grams of protein per day; ideally your protein should be spaced out throughout the day. Good protein sources are

  • Eggs and eggs whites
  • Chicken
  • Turkey
  • Lean beef
  • Fish (tuna,tilapia,salmon,mahi mahi, halibut)
  • Tofu
  • Beans
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Dairy products; cheese, milk, and yogurt.               Stay healthy!
